Description
We are in the search of an Inventory Control Specialist who will be responsible for planning and controlling raw material and finished goods inventory used to support manufacturing and other operations.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties:
Note: The following is meant to be representative but not necessarily all inclusive of the duties and responsibilities for this position title.
Create, improve and follow established procedures to ensure inventory accuracy
Perform daily cycle counts of inventory.
Reconcile daily cycle counts performed by others.
Create, improve and follow current practices to review and optimize inventory levels so that total inventory levels are as low as possible while still meeting all customer requirements.
Implement and monitor inventory management programs such as Vendor Managed Inventory, Kanbans, JIT and DFT initiatives.
Plan, release and close production orders
Review and validate MRP output
Publish Inventory and Production Planning metrics.
Work with IT, Materials, Finance and Manufacturing to optimize SAP processes.
Identify and correct BOM discrepancies.
Purchase standard inventory items from established suppliers for MRO
Assist in receiving, shipping and other Material handling duties as required.
Responsible for performng all duties in compliance with FDA's Quality System Regulation (QSR), ISO 13485, the Canadian Medical Device Regulations, and all other international regulatory requirements with which ZELTIQ complies.
Experience, Education, Training, Traits:
B.A. Degree or minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a Start-up, NPI or manufacturing environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Word. SAP Business One a plus.
Candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must demonstrate self-motivation, enthusiasm, a positive attitude and perform as a team player.
Experience with MRP is required.
Ability to effectively work with personnel on all levels.
Well-developed multi-tasking skills in a fast paced environment.
Ability to work independently and to adapt to consistently changing priorities.
Experience in a Medical Device manufacturing environment a plus.
Language and Verbal Skills
Articulate and professional when dealing with both internal and external customers.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
Ability to clearly and concisely convey procurement status including accomplishments, obstacles and issues to management.
Math Skills
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to use MS Excel to perform calculations and interpret results/data.
Analytical and Reading Skills
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to read technical literature and documents and extract important concepts.
