Position Description
This position will be an integral component of the Logistics team by providing accurate details of on-hand inventory, inventory in-transit, cycle counts, coordination with Return Goods Department, and manage product life cycles. The successful candidate will possess a proven track record of successful inventory control management in a fast-pace and growing environment
Responsibilities:
Perform duties as need to organize and maintain distribution of products to various distribution centers based on demand analysis.
Assist the transportation team in organizing and scheduling the transportation services for better consolidation.
Run a series of inventory reports on daily, weekly, or monthly basis & perform detailed analysis of items.
Develop accurate, consistent, and enhancements to the inventory reporting structure.
Identify ?heavy? and ?low turn? inventory items and coordinate consolidation program to ensure fast and accurate distribution.
Establish base line key performance metrics and weekly dashboards (e.g forecast accuracy, inventory management performance, etc.)
Create and maintain databases allowing for dashboard reporting and trend diagnostics
Analyze data and make recommendations in order to achieve profitability, customer service and inventory goals.
Analyze historical data and current trends to identify inventory risks and opportunities.
Drive service and inventory to reach or exceed corporate goals by actively managing key metrics (including: fill rates, days of supply)
Manage day-to-day inventory and service levels.
Work with supply chain team on implementing changes resulting from analysis.
Reliably manage assigned routine reporting and operational execution activities.
Agile and flexible. Able to work in a fast moving, demanding environment and move from project to project as needed.
Support inventory planning, forecasting, procurement, transportation, distribution operations, customer service, manufacturing and international functions as necessary.
Create a roadmap of process improvements and quantify competitive or economic values of each improvement
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in business related discipline required (logistics, quantitative business analysis, management information systems, or related field of study).
4-6 years? experience, preferably in a high volume, multi-location distribution environment, concentrating in distribution operations, inventory management, forecasting or transportation. Strong internship or co-op experience also considered.
Advanced analytical and problem solving abilities. Demonstrated experience in analyzing significant amounts of data and turning it into actionable information.
Microsoft Office Suite / Excel, Access, SQL, Data warehouse, SAP familiarity
Experience working with MRP/ERP systems
Excellent communication and mathematical skills
Excellent writing, documentation, and analytical skills
Able to generate Analytics Reports as needed
Good Team Player
Ability to show initiative
Works well under pressure and is able to work independently as well as under supervision
APICS certification would be a must.
