The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of inventory movement within a hi-tech manufacturing environment, from material delivery through product build. He/She will maintain inventory of electro-mechanical and optical parts and materials, accurately track all moving materials within the warehouse, suppliers, and on the production floor. The Inventory Specialist may also contribute to other aspects of parts distribution, such as, coordinating inventory requirements, reviewing procurement details with buyers, and tracking parts and materials that are in transportation.
Other duties include supervision of the inventory cycle count; accounting for and reporting inventory surplus or shortages, part returns, and damages or discrepancies; re-stocking and filling order forms; and estimating stock requirements according to demand reports.
The utilization of computerized inventory systems will require this individual to be proficient in managing and updating data systems and the entry of part/product data into the inventory tracking system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receives all incoming materials and packages, and processes receipt of goods in MAS200.
Assists in providing quality checks of all incoming parts and materials.
Oversees records regarding inventory levels and compiles evaluation reports.
Conducts a daily audit of relevant inventory as required.
Assembles & ships packages and kits.
Creates inventory part & item numbers based on input from Production and Engineering.
Performs transactions to move parts between warehouses and work orders, ensuring the parts and materials are put back into inventory under the appropriate item number.
Pulls kits to have sub-assemblies made at suppliers; reissues unused materials back into inventory.
Runs component requirement reports and generates parts and materials shortage lists.
Manages production entries ? grouping and kitting materials for in-house work orders.
Maintains well organized warehouse, kitting, and shipping/receiving areas; ensuring items are clearly marked and in designated areas.
Assist as needed with updating the Bills of Material.
Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
High School diploma or equivalent; associate?s degree preferred.
3-5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
Excellent computer skills to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Demonstrated experience with MAS200 or similar MRP/ERP systems.
Ability to frequently sit and reach within hands and arms length. Ability to use office equipment such as PC.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to regularly work with microscopes and/or computer monitors.
Manual dexterity required to regularly work with small hand tools.
Individual?s primary workstation is located in the manufacturing/lab area.
The noise level in this environment ranges from low to moderate.
