Merrimack is a biopharmaceutical company discovering, developing and preparing to commercialize innovative medicines paired with companion diagnostics for the treatment of serious diseases, with an initial focus on cancer. Merrimack applies Network Biology, its proprietary systems biology-based approach to biomedical research, throughout the research and development process. Merrimack currently has five targeted therapeutic oncology candidates in clinical development.
We are looking for an Investor and Public Relations Specialist who will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and management of a comprehensive and strategic IR and PR program with a goal of building and maintaining a positive image of Merrimack externally. This position would be interacting on a day to day basis with investors and analysts, as well as senior management.
Requirements and qualifications:
Passion for working in the healthcare field
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work successfully in a team-based environment
Excellent planning, analytical and interpersonal skills
Organized and a focus on attention to detail
Bachelor?s degree; minimum 3-5 years work experience, ideally in the Biotech industry with a background in communications
Strong computer and analytical skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
Responsibilities include:
Collaborate with the Director of IR as a liaison with sell-side analysts, institutional investors, existing investors and media
Travel from time to time with executives to investor events
Assist in attracting and retaining long-term shareholders through targeting and ongoing relationship building and assisting with relationship development with the media
Assist with development and communication of internal and external messaging on corporate milestones and announcements
Drafts written materials both for the media and investors
Assist with management of investor events and emails, marketing materials, IR website and vendor relationships
Collaborate with internal and medical communications as well as teams across the company to ensure that messages are consistent
Collaborate with legal, finance and other departments on quarterly reporting and SEC compliance
