Salamander Technologies is seeking an experienced software developer for its engineering team. Thisposition involves development of software products and solutions for the First Emergency Response
industry for use in emergency situations to identify and track people and resources.
The position requires extensive experience working with iOS platform targeting iPhone and iPad
technology platforms. The successful candidate must be passionate about developing new technologies
and solving difficult technical problems. They should have a strong sense of product design, and have
solid development experience and practices (e.g. unit testing, technical design documentation, and
understanding of RAD methodologies). The candidate should be open and willing to dive into new and
unfamiliar technologies to quickly become proficient at use of tools and languages.
The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills working in
a team environment.
Skills and Competencies
? Programming Skills: Objective?C (excellent), C, Cocoa, Java
? Apps: One or more deployed consumer iOS apps.
? UX: Very strong User Experience skills and understanding of user behaviors.
? Web: strong understanding of web and web?related technologies, with specific experience
working with REST patterns, employing JSON structures. Strong emphasis on backend
technologies and services.
? Design and Methodology: Object oriented (OO) design and programming patterns, and working
knowledge of Agile techniques.
? 3 or more years of experience in software design and development, at least 2 years developing
with iOS, Objective?C and Cocoa.
? Tools: XCode
? Source Control: Git, Github
? Operating Systems: OSX, iOS (deep knowledge)
? Database Systems: SQLite
? Application Markup Languages: XML, XML?schema, XSL, JSON
? Motivated and avid technologist.
Education
? BS/MS in Computer Science, or Computer/Electrical Engineering
