THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Merrimack Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company discovering, developing and preparing to commercialize innovative medicines paired with companion diagnostics for the treatment of serious diseases, with an initial focus on cancer. Merrimack applies Network Biology, its proprietary systems biology-based approach to biomedical research, throughout the research and development process. Merrimack currently has six targeted therapeutic oncology candidates in clinical development.
We are seeking a talented person to support our Intellectual Property and Legal teams. The IP Coordinator/Legal Assistant will have a broad range of responsibilities to ensure the smooth functioning of all of Merrimack?s IP and legal affairs. The ideal candidate will have the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment and work proactively with various teams across the organization.
Support various IP projects, including new patent and trademark application submissions, patent prosecution and oppositions.
o Schedule conference calls, track action items and ensure timely outcomes.
Maintain IP database: Provide on-going data entry and docket management.
o Track and ensure timely action on due dates for IP prosecution and maintenance.
o Run status reports and retrieve data as needed.
o Assist with review and processing of annuities.
Enter all completed contracts into electronic database and maintain paper files.
Organize and manage patent applications and other important documents.
Manage formal documents for patent application filings, including obtaining inventor signatures, notarizing and transmitting to outside counsel.
Assist with online filings with the USPTO.
Assist with managing patent project team meetings, including scheduling meetings, drafting agendas, circulating meeting minutes and ensuring follow-up on action items.
Interface with scientists to expedite transfer of information to patent team.
Manage due dates of public disclosure approval requests from corporate communications.
Track costs vs. budget and provide quarterly reports to appropriate team members.
Review and process invoices.
B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent experience.
Strong attention to detail, quality, accuracy and data integrity.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with Computer Packages Inc. (CPi) database and SharePoint highly desirable.
Must interact well in a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other teams at Merrimack, outside law firms and collaborators.
Highly focused on execution.
Familiarity with biotechnology a plus.
Registered Notary Public or willingness to register.
