The IP Voice Engineer will support the technical needs of both internal and external customers to maintain the highest levels of voice service availability.
The primary responsibilities of this job are to:
Act as a team member providing engineering experience in both critical situations and day-to-day operations. Have a high level of knowledge with all voice infrastructure components, how they interact as well as how they relate to other services and platforms provided by ENA.
Participate in design discussions with the architecture team and lead implementation of new voice products and services at customer sites. Implement and participate in design of our carrier VoIP telephony infrastructure at customer sites;
Work with the voice engineering and architecture teams to administer and maintain carrier VoIP platform across multiple vendor equipment including hardware and software upgrades. Plan, develop, coordinate and assist in completion of scheduled voice platform maintenance;
Provide support and leadership for customer issues within the team and coordinate third party vendor interaction, including telecom interconnection partners to ensure prompt and professional resolution. Analyze and resolve complex voice issues in day-to-day and critical situations down to root cause.
The successful candidate will have 7+ years of technical experience in the data and VoIP environment with in-depth knowledge and experience with MetaSwitch. A working knowledge of SIP, QOS, ,T.30, T.38, TDM delivery technologies and advanced voice troubleshooting in carrier VoIP deployment scenarios is required. Experience with the following systems are strongly preferred: Broadsoft Synergy Feature Servers, Acme Packet Session Border Controllers, Dialogic Media Servers, Iperia, Broadsoft Broadworks, Freeswitch, FaxBack, Cisco Routers/Switches and the Linux Operating System.
A Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred; Cisco certification, RHCE or LPIC a plus. Applicable experience may be considered as a substitute. Must be flexible in order to support a 24/7 operation and willing to travel throughout our service area.
