We are seeking an intelligent, motivated, and dynamic Information Services Engineer versed in VMware and Windows server environments to join our Engineering Services group. The IS Engineer will perform system administration tasks such as building, operating, maintaining, and enhancing the engineering computing infrastructure, and providing technical support to software developers and quality engineers.Jive?s computing environment is a mix of CentOS Linux and Microsoft Windows systems, both bare metal and in VMware, with heavy reliance upon NetApp and other NFS storage. Typical IS Engineer tasks would include deploying and customizing clusters of Windows and Linux server VMs, managing access and interactions using Active Directory group policies, supporting the developer sandbox Sharepoint instance contained within the cluster, and managing the related NetApp storage and backups.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent task management, and trouble-shooting skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Support software development and Quality Engineering in troubleshooting and debugging issues on Windows server platforms, and with Windows workstations.
Build and maintain Development and QA environments, specifically MSSQL database and SharePoint environments.
Help establish, document, monitor and enhance standard operating procedures.
Required:
Experience supporting Windows Server and desktop operating systems, in an environment with multiple system administrators.
Experience managing Active Directory integrated DHCP and DNS with multiple sites.
Experience administrating and managing one of the following: MSSQL, Postgres, or some other RDBMS, including writing simple ad-hoc queries.
Experience integrating Linux systems with Active Directory authentication (such as Samba or SSSD).
Experience administering one of VMware vSphere, VMware vCloud Director, or VMware View.
Experience with scripting one of the following: Powershell, Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl.
Desired:
Experience supporting software development and testing efforts.
Experience with Active Directory Group Policy Management.
Experience maintaining SharePoint Server farms from an IT/systems perspective (not document management or taxonomy).
Experience with Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) or Lync Server configuration and deployment.
Experience with CentOS Linux server environments.
Experience managing NetApp or other enterprise NAS storage.
Experience with managing networking devices such as Cisco Nexus, F5 load balancers, or Juniper networking.
Familiarity with X.509 certificates and their attributes or experience with openssl.
