Summary: Questar Assessment, Inc. has a Business Analyst position available at our corporate office in Apple Valley, MN. The IT Business Analyst is accountable for managing one or more contracts and/or software development projects. The individual is responsible for accurate, successful, and on-time delivery of all milestones related to a project or contract, all requirements documentation, project management (including scheduling) and oversight of the SDLC (software development lifecycle). The position reports to the Director of IT Projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the gathering and documentation of requirements needed to implement successful software development projects and contracts
Elicit requirements using interviews, documentation analysis (e.g. client RFP; QAI response; SOW, ITPO, Requirements Templates, Use Cases, etc.), business process descriptions, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
Critically evaluate information from multiple sources, decompose high-level information into detailed process flow/requirements
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze needs and requirements and deliver the following as needed: functional requirements, business requirements, use cases, design review, code review, and report design
Implement Questar?s Software Development Lifecycle
Serve as the conduit and act as liaison between the customers (internal and client), software development team and technical teams through which requirements flow
Develop use cases and review and or edit requirements and specifications according to standard templates
Manage MS Project schedules and lead enforcement of project deadlines and schedules in response to client?s requirements
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor?s degree in science, math, business, MIS or related field plus
3 year?s professional experience demonstrating responsibility for participating in and/or managing small to medium sized software development projects
Experience writing complete and accurate business requirements
Familiarity with creating, reviewing, and/or executing test plans
Experience building and managing a project schedule in Microsoft Project or similar project management tool
The ability to lead a small to medium-sized project, including development of plans for scope, timeline, budget, issue management, and managing change
Experience conducting and leading team meetings to gather requirements, manage the schedule, and review project deliverables
Preferred Qualifications:
PMI/PMP certification preferred
Graduate training in psychometrics, business or technology is a plus
