IT Desktop Support Intern - Wakefield, Massachusetts (364436) Picis
DescriptionWe are currently seeking IT Desktop Support Interns for our IT Team at Picis Inc., part of OptumInsight, a division of UnitedHealth Group. Picis provides innovative information solutions that enable rapid and sustained delivery of clinical, financial and operational results in the acute care areas of hospitals.
The IT Desktop Support Interns will be responsible for providing desktop and laptop support for Microsoft Windows based systems. This temporary, full time position will be for January through June 2012.
Responsibilities:
Perform regular maintenance of end-user systems on a daily basis
Manage outage and escalation process as needed
Schedule deployment of systems as needed
Understand interdependency of existing systems and the impact of the introduction of new systems
Serve as liaison between staff and technology department to compile requirements, deploy, and transition services to users
Work independently, and in collaboration with staff on hardware and application projects.
Document resolutions and project work for future reference.
Other duties as assigned.
This position is located in our Wakefield, Massachusetts office.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in MIS or Computer Science or similar Bachelor's degree program and have completed 1-2 years of courses in computer technology
Excellent customer service skills
Comfortable handling both Hardware and Software
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2003, 2007 experience
PC Hardware build, installation and support experience
Experience with network printers and file servers
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
