Job Summary:
This position is responsible for updating and keeping current the companys proprietary databases and assisting on new database projects.
Responsibilities:
Develop a firm understanding of Quickcomms business model and processes in order to improve upon our current systems. Work independently with little supervision to enhance current software tools
Assist in the monitoring of production databases, servers and Web Site
Work closely with Sales, Operations and Quality Control to perform system analysis and design using structured development techniques
Be the primary IT representative to support Quality Control and IT Governance by developing Quality, Audit, and Governance reports
Assist in the development of end-user customer web applications that are Section 508 Compliant
The ideal candidate should have the ability to excel in a team model environment and work multiple projects simultaneously. Should be skilled in project management techniques and system development life cycle methodologies, development methodologies and version control. Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and possess excellent documentation skills
Modify existing web based applications using the .NET Framework, C, ASP.NET, Adobe Flex, JavaScript and Ajax
Create or modify existing stored procedures using best practices for SQL development
Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project
Develop and maintain database systems to extract, cleanse, transform, load and maintain client data
Use encryption and cryptography standards to protect internal and external data
Development and maintenance of the database persistence layer (stored procedures, views, functions) for hosted web applications
Ensure all database systems meet business and performance requirements
Produce ad-hoc queries and develop reports and visual dashboards to support business needs
Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
Unit testing of developed solutions
Handle end user support medium/large size business with telecommuters
Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent work.
.NET Framework, C, ASP.NET, VBScript , JavaScript, HTML, Ajax software development
In-depth knowledge of SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, including T-SQL syntax, complex query design, stored procedures, views and functions
Must have international programming experience including currency and content localization
Understanding of index design and SQL performance tuning techniques
Strong analytical skills including quality control methodologies and IT governance best practices
Excellent project management skills
Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word VBA
Able to document process flow diagrams, functional vs. non-functional specifications, and database relational models
Knowledge of financial reporting systems
SQL Server Reporting Services
Windows NT/2003/XP/7 experience such as networking, troubleshooting, installation and configuration of software
