We are looking for a talented and highly motivated IT Engineer who can provide a high level of customer service while supporting users technical issues with their Windows, Mac and Unix desktops and laptops. This person will also assist in supporting the integrity of the vast IT infrastructure and in the execution of the IT strategy.
It is important that this person is able to display their passion for IT as well as their independence and drive to be successful in the role.
The key responsibilities:
Manage and take full responsibility for tickets in the global Service Desk ticketing system as well as resolving these in a timely manner
Providing technical support to a wide range of Windows, Unix and Mac desktops and laptops
Manage the starters/leavers/movers process function from IT ensuring a positive impression for new staff
Work with the London team to identify and correct areas within IT where there is opportunity for service improvement
Assist in administering Windows Server and Linux estate including ensuring data integrity (security/backups)
Assist in administering and growing the virtual infrastructure
Assist in the administration of the networking infrastructure
Engage in project work as defined by the Project Manager
Desired skills and experience
Experience working in a fast paced organization with strong demands on the IT infrastructure and Service Desk
Strong desktop support experience in providing solutions to customers
Troubleshooting Windows, Unix and Mac environments
PC/laptops builds, rollouts, migrations, fault diagnosis experience
Understanding of networking concepts for both LAN and WAN including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
Strong understanding of Active Directory, ability to create and manage users as well as group policies
Experience with corporate security protocols including system updates, antivirus, threat analysis
Ability to understand customer requirements and converting into actionable tasks
Understanding of storage technologies both hardware, storage principles and software technology (iSCSI, NFS, zoning etc)
Experience of Windows and Unix / Linux system Architecture, administration, configuration and automation
Understand Agile methodology and experience applying that to an operational environment
Any development, scripting knowledge also beneficial.
