Manages the activities, operations, and project life cycle of the Enterprise Applications team. The successful candidate will have direct involvement in the development and management of our growing development team, providing leadership to the team?s technical staff, assisting the IT Departmental head in OpEx and CapEx budgeting, vendor management, and assisting in the development of innovative ideas for the successful growth of the department . This is a hands-on technical role and will require an excellent development and design background and the ability to articulate both vision and technical details in a clear and concise manner. The successful candidate will have responsibility for leading efforts in developing world class applications. This will be accomplished through close liaison with our end users and internal teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development. Reports to the Director of IT or Information Systems Executive. Requires at least seven years of computer systems experience with 2-5 years of management/ leadership experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Applications architecture/planning, development and estimation.
Identify key drivers required to develop, configure, test and implement existing and new applications.
Develops and documents systems/application architecture and insure application development conforms to this architecture.
Liaise with functional team members to ensure application success.
Liaise with internal customers (IT Steering Committee) and IT team members. Periodically monitor and solicit feedback from the end user base
Manages activities of a staff of programmers and QA Analysts.
Assign work to staff and measure actual completion to baseline for performance measurement
Acts a project manager for the Enterprise Application team projects
Provide direction in the technical design of new applications and interfaces including the re-verse engineering of existing applications.
Strive to deliver applications that are bug and defect free.
Participate in the Change Management Committee and ensure compliance to Change Management process.
Manages personnel activities (i.e. hires, fires, trains, coaches, appraises rewards, motivates, disciplines, etc.).
Evaluates and reports on progress and results regarding EA activities and goal attainment.
Keeps informed of new developments and trends; makes recommendations to senior management on desirable additions, replacements, or modifications to existing and new systems, in order to ensure their optimization, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
Serves as a contact for vendors of equipment and services
Develops relationships with vendors and investigates sources of equipment, software and services.
Evaluates vendor cost and quality of services.
Assists in the planning of the IT CapEx and OpEx budgeting process
Knowledge of agile software development practices
Hands on experience in different web development methodologies
Experience developing on Windows and ISS Server environment
Great team player with good communications and interpersonal skill
Excellent analytical and design skills at multiple product level
Aware of business issues as they impact overall project plans
Demonstrated experience in delivering software products
Experience in developing multi-platform applications
Experience using Visual Studio.Net IDE and/or Eclipse IDE
Experience using source control system
Experience using change management process
Additional desirable skills:
Hands-on NetSuite development experience
Strong T-SQL skills; experience with SQL Server 2005/2008
SharePoint 2010 implementation, migration or development experience
Bachelor's degree in business or computer science. Requires seven to 10 years of computer systems experience with one to three years of senior level MIS-related experience, with at least 2-5 years of management/leadership experience
