We are seeking an IT Helpdesk Engineer with a minimum of 3 years professional experience. This position requires excellent communication skills (written and verbal), a mastery of Microsoft technologies, in addition to a superior service-oriented demeanor. This position is a blended Help Desk and Desk Side Support role.
Responsibilities include providing IT support to all internal customers (users) on a variety of issues in order to identify, research, and resolve hardware, software and networking problems. This individual will have the responsibility to respond to telephone calls, emails, and personnel walk-up requests for technical support. This person has to have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, platforms and procedures within the customer service based IT field.
The responsibilities also include:
Being part of a weekly after-hours on-call rotation with some occasional night and/or weekend work.
Remotely assist users with technology problems in field offices.
Following standard helpdesk operating procedures, including accurately logging calls, ensuring changes are adequately tested, and meeting the group?s SLA agreements.
Driving to various Archive facilities in New Jersey to provide support.
Required qualifications include:
Experience with Active Directory (managing user accounts, security and distribution groups).
Experience with MS Exchange (creating user accounts, mailboxes and distribution groups).
Thorough knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, as well as the Microsoft Office 2003 / 2007 / 2010 / 2013 suite.
Network printer installation / troubleshooting experience.
Thorough knowledge of networking topology and concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, and LAN/WAN.
Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting computer hardware.
Experience with Citrix Applications
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
Ability to work responsibly with or without direct supervision.
Creative thinking and good problem solving skills including data collection, drawing valid conclusions, and applying common sense when following instructions.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment, including effective multi-tasking, exercising patience and professionalism, and advancing on longer-term projects in parallel to ongoing daily business needs.
Good time management, process management and organizational skills.
Must be a strong team player, including ability to communicate technical concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff, as well as to identify and clearly communicate problems or support requests in order to influence the prioritization of projects.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and on occasion up to 75 pounds.
Additional qualifications that would be desirable but not required include:
Working with third party Helpdesk Software (e.g., Remedy, Heat, or Service Desk Express)
Experience in using Salesforce
Experience with Blackberries and other smartphones
Experience using Norton Ghost
Experience with building and maintaining a standard OS image for future deployment
An associate?s degree in a related area.
