Yorktel is currently seeking a IT Help Desktop Specialist to be the primary IT technical resource to support and to maintain all desktop/laptop/printer related hardware and software in the company.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
Ability to install and troubleshooting of IT related hardware and software applications
Working with computer hardware vendor for RMA issues
Ability to configure and troubleshoot mobile devices such as but not limited to iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, and Android based devices
Ability to deploy new desktop/laptop and re-image existing desktop/Laptop.
Ability to create new desktop/laptop images.
Maintain IT related asset records such as laptop, desktop, and printer
Answer IT help desk phone call, email, walk-in inquiry, and trouble ticket submitted via the help desk application in a courteous and timely manner
Enter all support requests into trouble ticketing system and update trouble ticket through out the life cycle of the ticket
Support and investigate problems for any software application including required drivers/plug-in used in the company such as Adobe, Dreamweaver, Autocad, MS Project
Deploy desktop phones and softphones.
Knowledge of and adherence to York Telecom policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements :
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and hands on experiences of Laptops and desktop software and hardware troubleshooting/resolution.
Windows 2000/XP/7/8, Microsoft Office XP/2003/2007/2010, Outlook 2003/2007/2010, Apple Mac OS based desktop/Laptop, networked environments.
Ability to identify PC and Mac Laptop hardware issues and replace hardware components independently
Familiar with PC hardware and ability to assemble a completely customized PC from parts according to requirements
Familiar with Windows Domain Controller, Active Director, Exchange Server, Firewall, File Server, Router, Backup strategy, VPN, Computer Networks, DNS, DHCP, Gateway, Proxy configurations
Ability to work independently a must.
Must also be able to participate and work well in a team environment
Familiar with Image software such as Ghost
Hands on experience of iOS, Android, and blackberry based tablets and/or smart phones.
VoIP desktop phone and softphone experience.
Extensive Anti-Virus software management hands on experiences including removing malware from computers.
Familiar with computer management system to track computer assets, push patches/applications from remote, and manage life cycle of trouble tickets.
Present a professional appearance at all time Ability to cope with multiple projects Good written and oral communications skills
Education & Qualifications:
Must have 3 years IT help desk related experience
Bachelor or associate degree in computer science or electrical engineering or related fields. But if candidate has 5 years of IT working experience, then the candidate can be from other discipline
Microsoft or Cisco certification a big plus
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
Frequent sitting, standing and walking
Occasional travel which might require overnight stay
Weekend and evening hours may be required
Must be willing to complete background checks and drug screen as required by current or future contracts
Valid U.S. driver?s license is a requirement and must have a positive driver?s abstract
