JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary of Functions:
Carry out information security processes for New Breed to protect New Breed against compromise of protected information and against unauthorized intrusion into its network and systems. Monitor system and network activities and take corrective action when necessary.
Essential Functions:
Implement and execute appropriate standardized procedures to ensure the security of systems and data including, but not limited to, credential audits and system monitoring.
Monitor IT systems, report suspicious events, and take appropriate action to resolve security issues following incident response procedures.
Audit system and application configuration and activity.
Complete forms and update databases to track activity.
Provide second-tier support to the support center. Complete work necessary to resolve assigned tickets within service levels and update information in the ticketing system to appropriately describe ticket resolution. Escalate issues that cannot be resolved through normal activities.
Participate in implementation, execution, and testing of information security processes.
Use observation and initiative to identify potential security vulnerabilities and risks.
Assess security and business impacts of potential events or conditions.
Provide expertise and support to management and business functional areas as needed.
Develop and maintain information security documentation.
Assist with the implementation of information security solutions.
Participate in the design of and conduct information security training and awareness.
Conduct team activities following established department guidelines and standard tools ? IT service management (ISO 20000), work and project management (PRINCE2), information security, etc.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
BS/BA degree
3-5 years experience in information security or related field
Professional certification in the information security field (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional CISSP)
Strong project management skills with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing resources to achieve target dates
Strong PC skills and familiarity with administrative processes
Understanding of information security, IT system, and networking concepts
Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
Strong data analysis skills including querying, analysis, and reporting
Strong verbal/written communications skills. Must be able to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with people in remote locations.
Attention to detail and ability to follow specific processes
