Solutions Architect (Can be located virtual- North America, prefer East Coast):
Develops long-term technology strategies based on the technical and business information they maintain. The strategy is developed with knowledge from the industry, marketing, development, delivery, procurement and customer input.
Drives for internal and external alignment of the strategy.
Develops long-term technical relationships with the vendor base for the core technology or solutions. The relationships should create a technical interface, driving those requirements into next generation vendor designs.
Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of vendor roadmaps. Maintains a database of multi-year vendor/partner roadmaps with detailed feature trade-offs. Ensures roadmap alignment by hosting regular ongoing technology reviews with the vendors/partners to ensure alignment with Dell business objectives.
Identifies and develops differentiation opportunities, provide technical information and make recommendations to marketing, procurement, engineering, customers, and business executives.
Takes a leading role in strategic technical forums and meetings on a regular and consistent schedule.
Assists development and systems engineering as required when working tactical/time-to-market development issues.
Supports Customer briefings and presents technical data on Dells product and industry direction in a convincing and authoritative form. Responsible for generating intellectual property and supporting Dells legal team by providing technical support on intellectual property disputes.
Participates as required in strategic initiatives for improvements in process, quality, and cost.
When assigned to support a product line, responsible for collaborating with the marketing, engineering, and supply base to result in a product architecture that will meet the line of businesses requirements for product leadership.
Experience working with global delivery teams.
Experience working across large corporation to identify and capitalize on corporate capability in the delivery of solutions
Experience with development languages: Java, C++, Shell Scripting
Experience with OSes: Linux or UNIX, SUSE & RedHat helpful
Expert in messaging protocols: DICOM, HL7 v2 (or v3), MOM
Enterprise Architecture experience
Software Lifecycle and Design Methodologies experience
Experience with Modeling Notations such as UML
DCAM

Qualifications
Requirements/Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have between 10-15 years of relevant work experience and at least 7+ years of storage/enterprise architecture experience.
Storage Expert. Storage Area Network (SAN) experience. iSCSI experience
Experience with medical imaging (PACS/ DICOM/HL7 experience) a major plus.
Strong communications and customer facing skills.
Cloud Computing Architecture experience.
Undergraduate degree and 10+ years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 8+ years relevant experience.
