We're seeking to enhance the IT team with the hiring of an IT Specialist I
The IT Technical Services team manages Northern Safety?s physical IT infrastructure, enabling the company to reach its goals and objectives.
This integral team is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of all computers, printers, mobile devices, phones, networking, servers, and all related hardware and software systems. Our company recognizes the importance of staying on top of changes in technologies! You will be able to work with leading edge solutions from Microsoft, HP, Cisco and more. You will be working with our team to serve on the front lines of supporting the needs of our growth-oriented company!
IT Specialist I is an entry level help desk position. As such, we?re not looking for formal business experience but we do expect to see a passion for technology. Are you the go-to-person for your friends and family when they have computer problems? Have you successfully built (or rebuilt) computers from scratch? Do you care about the experience people have when using computers and want to make it better? Then you?re just the person we?re looking for!
Here?s Where You?ll Fit In
Be a part of team focusing on user experience, performance, and the stability of all systems
Collaborate in a high energy environment with business users and the Application Development team to ensure systems are stable, secure, and perform to expectations
Possess a strong sense of urgency while responding to associate requests and potential downtime
Monitor, prioritize, schedule, and respond to help requests via incoming help desk tickets, phone calls, pages, and/or emails in a courteous manner
Image and deploy new computers on an ongoing basis, tracking their basic information and location in an inventory system
Maintain and create documentation to allow for repeatable processes and cross training
Be passionate and open minded about technology while holding an understanding that all IT solutions exist to serve business needs

The Skills We Need to See
Hands-on experience fixing/building computers, removing viruses/malware, installing/supporting Windows, Office, and other software, and troubleshooting hardware/software problems
Any experience troubleshooting Deskjet or LaserJet printers, phones, or Macs will be helpful
Experience setting up a home network, and understanding the purpose/function of a switch/router/firewall/wireless AP would be great to see
A strong work ethic, great written and verbal communication skills, outstanding customer service orientation, and excellent troubleshooting and problem solving ability are all vital ?soft skills? you should have
The Education and Certifications We?d Like to See
While education/certifications will certainly help, this position is entry level and IT is all about constant learning, so we?re looking for you to be eager to learn and grow!
