THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The IT Technical Services team manages Northern Safety?s physical IT infrastructure, enabling the company to reach its goals and objectives.
This integral team is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of all computers, printers, mobile devices, phones, networking, servers, and all related hardware and software systems. Our company recognizes the importance of staying on top of changes in technologies! You will be able to work with leading edge solutions from Microsoft, HP, Cisco, VMware and more. You will be working with our team to serve on the front lines of supporting the needs of our growth-oriented company! Northern Safety has 14+ locations so you should be comfortable with supporting people and technology across locations both remotely and in-person through occasional travel.
IT Specialist II is a hybrid role responsible for serving on the front lines of IT support. You will be working both on the help desk to field help requests from our associates, as well as being involved in project based work and assisting with first level server/network based tasks. Northern Safety is all about career paths and promoting from within, and this position is a perfect stepping stone on the way to an admin level role in servers/networking/security!

Be a part of team focusing on user experience, performance, and the stability of all systems
Collaborate in a high energy environment with business users and the Application Development team to ensure systems are stable, secure, and perform to expectations
Possess a strong sense of urgency while responding to associate requests and potential downtime
Monitor, prioritize, schedule, and respond to help requests via incoming help desk tickets, phone calls, pages, and/or emails in a courteous manner
Use MS System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for computer imaging, deployment of Windows Updates, and reporting
Maintain and create documentation to allow for repeatable processes and cross training
Take part in continuous learning ? researching the web, reading books, collaborating with peers, and attending training classes and industry conferences

The Skills We Need to See
Hands-on experience supporting computers, printers, and software in a business environment both in-person and remotely over the phone with remote support tools
Creating and deploying images for computers should be second-nature
Basic working knowledge of Active Directory and creating user and email accounts
A basic understanding of the purpose/function of network equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points, and how they all work together
Experience in centrally managing and deploying Windows Updates
A strong work ethic, great written and verbal communication skills, outstanding customer service orientation, and excellent troubleshooting and problem solving ability are all vital ?soft skills? you should have
The Fun Stuff You?ve Done That Could Help Seal the Deal
Any intermediate level experience working with servers, networking, and security will be beneficial, but not required
A familiarity with virtualization technologies, specifically VMware would be great to see
Today?s workforce is mobile! It will be very helpful to see experience in supporting remote access technologies
The Education and Certifications We?d Like to See
An associate?s degree in an IT related discipline and 1-2 years? experience in supporting the computer and software needs of a business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+ are a good complement to your experience
