IT Support Engineer II K2M
The IT Support Engineer II will report to the IT Operations and Support Manager performing Tier 1 and 2 support duties. Duties to include technical leadership for the support team, Infrastructure maintenance, configuration and technical issue resolution. The engineer will work closely with external service providers and owners of internally hosted systems to ensure reliable system performance.
Primary responsibility for resolution of Tier 2 technical issues and for performing advanced administrative tasks
Member of end-user support team, but with additional responsibilities to include leadership for technical processes. Will perform support team leadership role, in absence of IT Operations and Support Manager
Responsible for performing all duties of the IT Support Engineer I, in addition to Tier 2 responsibilities.
Assume a primary role in the setup, issue, rebuild, troubleshooting, and tracking of all corporate computers, cell phones, telephones, etc., as needed.
Assist with regularly scheduled system maintenance for all corporate hardware as needed.
Assist with research and resolution of technical issues.
Assist with support of Windows user PC operating systems, Windows Server environments, corporate telephony system and mobile devices, as needed.
Assist with the creation, documentation, and implementation of formal user and departmental protocols and procedures.
Assist with the creation and maintenance of virtual nodes and ESX hosts.
Provide user and support team training as needed.
Degree Computer in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years? experience in an IT support organization or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work independently, as a team member or as a team leader depending upon the situation.
Proven experience with hardware/software setup and desktop troubleshooting.
Experience with operating systems to include Windows operating systems, Windows Server and Microsoft Office 365.
Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
Experience with standard applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Adobe, Internet Explorer, media players, etc.
Experienced with VMware, ability to create virtual nodes and perform maintenance and troubleshoot ESX Host.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users via good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi-task with good attention to detail and consistent follow-through on commitments.
Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, computer hardware and good understanding of Windows Operating Systems, VMWare, Cisco, VLANs, and VPNs.
Be able to lift 45 lbs.
