We're looking for an amazing and passionate Tech Junky to join our team in NYC and help serve the IT needs of our current and incoming staff.
You love technology, and getting your hands dirty. You've modded every gaming console you've ever owned and weren't swayed by the possibility of bricking something, yet interacting with 100 different people a day doesn't make you nervous, and you could teach anyone from 9 to 90 how to use a printer or map a network drive.
Working as IT Support, you will
Be a member of Quirky's Tech Team, reporting to Quirky's Head of IT
Field support request on the fly, offering immediate attention as often as possible
Setting up workstations for new employees while keeping record of Licensing info
Ensure the Quirky staff has all of the necessary tech tools to make invention accessible, making suggestions on how to improve others' workflows
Onboarding setup of new employees, including workstation pre-setup, software installation and printer setup
Learn everything there is to learn about Quirky's operation, and provide technical solutions to help others perform their duties more efficiently
Provide 1 on 1 training and support for various software solutions and platforms including OSX, Windows, Parallels, Boot Camp, Base Camp, Jira, Adobe Suite, Solidworks, and more
Most importantly, perform the above with courtesy and understanding that not everyone may be as technical as you, but are just as important in running our invention machine.
1+ year of experience in a face to face help desk role
Passion for technology and staying on the bleeding edge
College degree or a really great dropout story
Ability to react to any issue as if the company depended on it, (yes even if it's an iTunes question).
Unrelenting intellectual curiosity and pride in doing awesome work
An entrepreneurial spirit
Great personal skills and ability to jive with every personality type
Action and detail oriented
Passion for what we are building at Quirky
