IT Support Manager
San Francisco, CA
Reporting to the Global IT Support Manager, the San Francisco IT Support Manager role is a full-time position in our busy corporate headquarters. The site manager is responsible for all aspects of IT at a local level and, as a result, the role is wide and varied. The successful candidate is expected to lead the local IT support function from a technical and people perspective, forge strong relationships with key business stakeholders and support the business on a daily basis.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with technical experience, a strong sense of ownership and a team player. This is a highly visible position and requires excellent communication and customer service skills. Experience with communicating with upper level management is a plus.
Responsible for managing the San Francisco support & helpdesk functions for 200+ users.
Providing technical and people leadership to the IT team and driving performance.
Effective management & prioritization of all IT escalations.
Responsible for building & maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
Liaising with HR and the hiring departments to onboard new joiners quickly and smoothly from an IT perspective, as well as follow up to ensure the new joiners are able to work effectively and efficiently as soon as they arrive.
Responsible for support and maintenance of local server, network & telephony infrastructure.
Responsible for maintaining a suite of corporate and virtual machine images.
Management of all vendor/supplier relationships and hardware purchasing.
Management of local call reporting & recording systems.
Must possess exceptional analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
Highly motivated individual with strong sense of ownership.
Eager to learn new technologies. Exceptional written and verbal skills.
Previous desktop support experience in a corporate environment.
Experience supporting Windows clients in a domain environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP/ Windows 7 & MS Office 2007 / 2010.
Demonstrated knowledge of Active Directory.
Demonstrated TCP/IP & LAN / WAN knowledge and troubleshooting abilities a must.
Avaya telephony administration.
VMWare server & workstation.
Mobile device administration and support (Blackberry, iPhone etc.)
Fluency in English is essential Excellent written and verbal communication is a must
Experience with Macs and managing Macs in a business environment is a plus
Must have strategic planning and project management experience
Relevant 3rd level qualification / industry qualifications (MCSE, CCNA etc.)
Avaya telecom experience a plus
5+ years? IT Management experience
VMware VDI support experience a plus
2+ years? experience in a similar role.
Experience working in a multi-site, global team environment.
