Astute Medical, Inc., an innovative early-stage in vitro diagnostic company, is seeking a highly motivated and talented IT Professional to join our team. Reporting to the IT Director this position will assist in maintaining the stability, integrity and operation of the global IT infrastructure. This position will also assist in global end-user support and on-call rotation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Setup and configuration of Windows Servers, MS SQL Servers, MS Exchange Servers, MS Sharepoint Servers and other Enterprise software in both physical and VMware environments.
Setup and configuration of NAS, SAN, and other storage systems.
Work with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems.
Conduct research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company?s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Integrate servers, including database, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems.
Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and other applications.
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.
Participate in after hours on-call rotation.
Provide guidance and support to junior staff.
Provide Helpdesk support at all levels.
Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent education and experience.
MCSE preferred.
5+ years of experience with systems engineering and administration in a Windows Environment.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to rapidly changing tasks/priorities.
Demonstrated experience in the design, development and implementation of Windows servers, storage and systems.
Demonstrated experience with systems planning, security and IT best practices.
Extensive experience with Windows Server 2008R2 including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Windows Security and Permissions
Extensive experience with Microsoft Exchange 2010.
Extensive experience with Symantec Backup Exec.
Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint Server.
Experience supporting Windows XP-2007 clients in a Windows Domain.
Experience configuring and deploying various network devices and clients.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to sit and reach to use computers and other office equipment
Must be able to walk or move around the site to support clients at their desks
Must be able tocommunicate with others
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds to desk height
