The Eucalyptus software can be used to increase agility for Dev & Test by allowing developers to self provision needed resources, and to allow enterprises to run scalable web services elastically utilizing the infrastructure resources.The IT System Administrator will be part of the team building out and managing our leading-edge internal development and test cloud of hundreds of servers that serves Eucalyptus developers in Santa Barbara and world-wide. As part of the IT team, the IT System Administrator also manages the day to day IT functions including system access management for everyone in the company, monitoring and management of internal systems and applications such as www.eucalyptus.com, and many other internal and external facing clouds built using Eucalyptus software.
Responsibilities:
? Monitor and manage (trouble shoot, upgrade, build from scratch) our Eucalyptus Cloud Infrastructure, including the creation and development of cloud-based images associated with a myriad of IT resources
? Management of our Corporate ID management to facilitate employee access to various IT resources
? Management of IT infrastructure systems: DHCP, DNS, SMTP, LDAP, etc
? Management of various IT resources: Email, Wiki, Filesystems, web servers, etc
? Support of IT Data and Voice infrastructure: Switches, Routers, VPN, VOIP, etc
? Data center operations (build-outs, maintenance, and planning)
? Write scripts to automate and monitor services and processes
? Troubleshoot issues with hardware, software, applications, and network
? Document current and future configuration processes and policies
? Participate in after hours call rotation
? Help with other tasks as needed
Experience and Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have 3 + years of IT admin experience:
? Experience in fast paced small team IT/Operations environment
? 3+ years of Linux/Windows systems administration experience
? Understanding of emerging cloud technologies, include the creation and use of images (e.g., AMI Amazon Machine Images)
? Practical knowledge of shell scripting and at least one scripting language (Ruby, Perl, Python)
? Systems administration-level knowledge of LDAP, HTTP/Apache, DNS/BIND, SSH, SNMP, NFS, Puppet, Cacti, Nagios, and Bash scripting
? Strong Linux experience across several distributions (CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu, SLES)
? Windows and Active Directory skills are a plus
