We are currently seeking a Systems Administrator.
The Systems Administrator?s role is to ensure the stable operation, maintenance, monitoring and improvement of DDN IT infrastructure. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing servers, storage systems, data center environment (HVAC, power and UPS, server racks, etc.), backups as well as various infrastructure systems across the organization including Exchange 2010 and Hyper-V. This person will ensure the availability of client/server applications, and configure new implementations for server hardware and operating systems. Where applicable, the system administrator will collect and analyze data and resolve end user hardware and computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
Plan and implement improvements, modification, or replacement of Windows Server 2008 infrastructure components, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, File, Print and Backup services for a multi site redundant server farm.
Must have experience in a fast paced enterprise Infrastructure.
Assist in designing and implementing data center/server room security features, including HVAC control, environmental alarms, access restrictions, and so on
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network and server configuration, mapping, processes, and support documents.
Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure Operations, Infrastructure products and services
Implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of storage appliances and stored data assets
Integrate systems, including database, SharePoint, LYNC, SCCM, SCOM, Exchange, File, Print (2008/2012 Print Services), and Microsoft DPM Backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems
Administer and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Person should have experience working with a Service Desk.
Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports
Perform file system configuration and management; define, perform and test backups and restores to ensure that enterprise data, servers and applications are effectively protected
Manage Exchange databases, antivirus applications, messaging filtering, and error log tracking; perform message archiving, retrieval, and deletion
Requires On-call availability
Travel is required 25% of the time
Qualifications for this role are:
Good working technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, LAN, WAN, Wireless, VPN, Firewalls, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, 802.1q, HTTP, SSL, ssh and so on
General knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN or NAS, as well as disk partitioning, file systems and snapshots
Good working knowledge of backup concepts and technologies including Fulls, Differentials and Incrementals, image-based, transaction logs, VSS, consistency, disk-to-disk, disk-to-tape, replication, off-site storage, etc.
Microsoft Active Directory/Global Catalog
Proven experience with Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010 administration
Experience with system monitoring tools such as SCOM, ipMonitor, ServersAlive, Spiceworks, Nagios or similar
Strong working knowledge of operating system patch management and change control practices -Familiarity with Microsoft SCCM, WSUS and Group Policy administration a plus
Working technical knowledge of current messaging and collaboration systems software, protocols, and standards, including SMTP, Microsoft SharePoint, Blackberry Enterprise Server, ActiveSync
Experience with Microsoft LYNC preferred.
Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience
Previous exposure to server virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
Extensive hands on client/server and operating system experience with Windows Server 2003, 2008, XP, 7, Mac OS and Linux (RedHat, Debian, etc.)
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manner of server hardware and associated equipment, including servers, PDUs, UPSes, KVMs, SCSI, RAID and I/O topology ?Experience racking/stacking/patching servers, labeling and dressing cables
DELL server hardware experience a plus
Hands-on Fiber Channel, iSCSI, SAN/NAS/DAS experience
Experience with LTO tape/disk drives or libraries and backup and restore technologies
Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint administration a plus
Ability to write typical system administration scripts in PowerShell, VBScript, DOS, Bourne shell, Perl, Ruby, Python or other language a plus
Experience with ITIL and ITSM.

Formal Education & Certification:
College diploma or university degree; in the field of computer science preferred or 6 years equivalent work experience
MCSE, MCITP or CCNA a plus
