The Systems Manager is responsible for all servers including hardware, software, operating systems, and peripheral equipment. He or she will ensure the security of the systems and the integrity of the data, including disaster recovery and virus prevention. The chosen candidate will also manage all daily, weekly and monthly systems functions including patches, fixes, and upgrades. The Systems Manager will participate in planning, design, and upgrade meetings on the institution?s infrastructure. He or she will have responsibility for system monitoring, client/server application support, e-mail support and maintaining and supporting Active Directory and its associated registries and processes.
The Systems Manager will manage the IT systems department in accordance with organizational policies and goals, supervising the day to day activities of the system engineers and administrators. The role includes monitoring system usage, making recommendations for improvements and determining system requirements, as well as maintaining existing infrastructure and incorporating any new features to maximize productivity. He or she will also research any possible problems or incidents that may occur within the infrastructure, determining the problem and, if necessary, making any changes necessary. The Systems Manager also provides backup support for related positions as needed.
Responsibilities include:
Build and maintain servers and manage the data center
Maintain the email and calendaring system
Manage the backup and restore of database and system information
Install new software and patches on servers and workstations.
Install and support web software and server configuration.
Support the organization?s business application systems
Ensure that operations are performed in a timely manner and that the operations are documented with appropriate policies and procedures.
Ensure adherence to documented policies and procedures as well as promulgating new policies and procedures or recommending changes to existing ones.
Procures and coordinates the installation of server and network equipment
Responsible for efficient allocation of departmental human resources.
Runs complex projects/programs from design and development to production
Furnishes daily management of the network and operations group including setting priorities, coordinating and reporting of group activities.
Performs team assessments and evaluations
Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Information Technology
Qualifications include:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Systems Manager with at least two years experience using Windows Server 2003/2008 and Microsoft Active Directory,
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL required.
Excellent problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills,
Proven ability to work independently and unsupervised,
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
