Tremor Video is opening a new Java Architect position in its Boston location. This is a great opportunity to build something new as well as to enhance and optimize existing systems. In this position you will be responsible for analyzing, architecting, designing, implementing and testing all layers of Tremor Video's SE2 architecture. Some of the sub-components include the scalable ad server (supporting hundreds of millions of requests per day), log handling and processing, reporting and administration as well as various enterprise-class client portals. You will have an opportunity to work with a number of different open source technologies such as Hadoop, MemcacheD/DB, MySQL, ActiveMQ, Lucene/Solr, Ehcache, HBase and other noSQL systems we plan to introduce. This is also an opportunity to work along side advanced and experimental research in Machine Learning algorithms.Requirements:
5+ years of development in high-traffic Java environments
Proven record building scalable, high-performance applications from ground up
Technical leadership in a small team using agile development
Shown to be successful in start-up environments
Experience working with at least one noSQL technology
Strong understanding of the MySQL platform
Proficiency in Linux
US citizenship or permanent resident
Bachelor's degree
Pluses:
Good understanding of the Spring Framework
Experience working with Hadoop Character Profile:
Excellent communication skills
High energy level & excellent people/team member skills
Adaptable, resourceful and independent
Motivated to build something new and work aggressively to meet new goals in an agile environment
