JAVA Database Developer Sypherlink
Position Responsibilities:
Restoration of database backups from SQL Server 2005/2000, Oracle 8i/9i/10g/11g, or DB2 8.1/9.5.
Analysis of database tables as they relate to a data warehouse model and determination of likely inter-database relationships.
Assess the quality and consistency of data stored in a source database and develop recommendations for data cleansing based upon data warehouse business rules.
Provide input to a Data Quality Report which documents findings regarding the database analysis work performed.
Create mapping definitions for database interrelationships (to the data warehouse model) recommended and confirmed.
Perform quality assurance activities on various steps of a data conversion process and provide feedback to the team.
Minimum Requirements:
B.S. in Computer Science, Systems Analysis or similar degree.
At least 2 years experience in database analysis projects in which one or more data sources were mapped and/or converted to a central data warehouse.
At least 3 years experience directly working with database technologies such as Oracle 9i/10g/11g, SQL Server 2000/2005 or DB2 8.1/9.5 and related administration tools. Knowledge of respective SQL to define and manipulate database structures is required.
Excellent written and verbal skills required.
Working knowledge of database extract, transformation and load (ETL) technologies such as Informatica or SQL Server Integration Services is a big plus.
U.S. Citizenship is desired.
Familiarity with the domain of law enforcement and related systems is desired.
