Position:
BuysideFX is seeking a skilled Java developer interested in applying their abilities in the areas of FX order staging, FX price aggregation, rules engine based workflow, FX trade execution, portfolio risk management, trade cost analysis, and reporting. If you are experienced in designing and developing multi-threaded, distributed, back-end systems we would like to hear from you.
Technologies:
Technologies used include Java SE, Apama Complex Event Processing EPL, C, and C++, application of a workflow rules engine, FIX and proprietary communications protocols to the venues, synchronous RPC and asynchronous queue based communications, specialized hardware integration such as GPUs, and complex algorithms including machine learning approaches.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop functionality for the BuysideFX product in Java and Apama EPL.
Develop connectivity to multiple FX liquidity providers leveraging Apama adapters and proprietary interfaces.
Design and develop internal infrastructure to support an automated build, test, and release process.
Fix product defects.
Work productively within a team of very talented software developers in a semi-virtual environment.
Contribute enthusiasm and creativity to help create awesomeness.
Core Experience/Qualifications:
BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent field plus 3 to 4+ years of commercial software development experience.
Advanced technical degree or related training or experience a plus.
Understanding of fundamental software design principals and SDLC.
Experience developing multi-threaded, distributed, back-end systems.
Experience with ActiveMQ or another JMS based queuing technology as well as experience with Thrift or another IDL RPC technology.
Experience with JDBC and database technologies (PostgreSQL).
Outstanding problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate and foster teamwork in a semi-virtual work environment.
Additional Experience of Benefit:
Experience with Apama Complex Event Processing EPL development.
Experience or background in capital markets, financial trading, or financial services.
Experience with the agile development process.
Familiarity with order management systems a major plus.
