Software Engineer ~ Java Natera

Software Engineer (Web UI and Front-end)Natera is a rapidly growing biotech startup with a mission to help families have healthy children. The ideal candidate for this position is detail oriented with strong SQL and Java experience. You will be working top to bottom from our Java based laboratory systems, to helping design and improve our operational processes. You should be enthusiastic about understanding our business processes, passionate about delivering quality work, and excited about learning new technologies.
Duties
As a diagnostic laboratory, we run highly complex tests in our 24x7 facility. Our LIMS (lab information management system), which we have built from the ground up, needs a completely new UI. You will be instrumental in architecting, designing and building a new UI for our systems. Using our SmartGWT prototype as a starting point, your task initially will be to build a flexible system which can keep up with changes in the business.
Your responsibilities will be to:
-Design and architect a workflow driven UI framework
-Understand our laboratory processes and translate them into UI models
-Design and implement a testing framework for UI
-Use wireframes and other agile tools to bridge the gap from business need to implementation
-Manage projects from beginning to end
Skills & Requirements
-4 years Java, at least 2 yr of front-end work
-GWT experience a definite plus
-BS in Computer Science (or other technical degree)
-SQL and ORM experience a plus
-Comfortable juggling multiple projects
-Self-motivated, and detail oriented
-Be excited about learning new technologies
