Java Senior Systems Engineer UpTake

We are a fast-growing company thriving through the economic downturn by providing a unique and much needed travel service. We are looking for an outstanding senior systems engineer with experience developing high scale search applications. Candidate has desire to work directly with product, business teams and the current systems engineers to have direct influence on the direction and quality of the leading travel search engine.

Experience (required):

- 5 years working with high volume search applications.
- 5 years Java systems software engineering
- Practical experience with Lucene, Solr.
- MySql or other relational DB

Experience (ideal):

- Knowledge of Nutch
- Knowledge of Hadoop
- Bonus points for experience with data collection and web crawling and for knowing what hosers and haggis have in common
- Extra bonus points for having a better sense of humor than the average bear
- Super bonus points for knowing what who the MFY are and why they deserve the acronym
