Java Web Application Engineer Qualys

Design, develop and deliver web service based security applications in Java and Javascript using Tomcat, ExtJS, Hibernate, Guice, and Oracle. Deliver new features and improvements in a fast paced environment as a part of a growing engineering team. Responsible for enhancing current service suite, creating new services and enhancing overall platform. Work closely with product marketing and cross-functional groups in a fast paced environment as a part of a growing engineering team.

As one of the programmers on the core Platform team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining the code that other modules use and rely on. Qualys is a cloud-based application suite, and a strong understanding of scalable coding practices is critical. In additional, we are responsible for prototyping new technologies within the Qualys ecosystem, and finding unique and new solutions to problems, so a creative mindset and a diverse background can be a big plus!

A candidate must be proficient with the following technologies:

• Java 6
• Hibernate, JPA, and Transaction Management
• Guice (or Spring) Dependency Injection
• Oracle (and basic database design, SQL queries, tables, views, etc)

Ideal candidates will also have experience with:

• DWR, JAX-WS, web-service-based UI's using ajax
• ExtJS, Prototype, JQuery
• Shiro (jSecure) Security / Session Library
• Terracotta Distributed Applications
• Object-Orientated Javascript
• Cloud-based software / multi-tenant applications
• Web security and secure coding practices
• SOAP clients such as axis2 and cxf
