Java/WebObjects Developer Medical Present Value

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: This person will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining a suite of Java-based web applications using WebObjects, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The candidate will be joining a highly productive team of experienced developers, and will be responsible for making significant contributions to many different areas of the product line. The position requires quality communication and teamwork skills, in addition to sound software development knowledge and experience. Some projects will involve a small team of business experts and developers, while others will be individual assignments that require good time management skills. Some extended working hours may be required.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Development Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Participate in the full life cycle of software development, including requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
Develop high-quality software that meets defined requirements
Provide support of developed software
Produce quality design and source code documentation
Maintain high level of communication with management and other members of the team
Proactive identification and resolution of software-related issues
Interact with other groups within the company to define requirements and create specifications based on those requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree or greater in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 4 years experience developing Java-based web applications.
SKILLS:
Proficient in developing web applications using Java, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
Strong experience with various J2SE technologies and concepts
Experience with WebObjects is highly desirable
Strong user interface design skills
Experience with SQL, Oracle, database table design, and object-relational mapping
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Independent problem solving and self-direction are important
Works well in a team oriented structure to achieve goals
