As an Jr. Cloud Linux Systems Administrator, you will provide front line systems administration support for Alert Logic hardware and virtual appliances through incidents raised by system events, and customer notifications. Directly contact customers and partners to report device outages, and network visibility related incidents. Remediate known errors directly.Required Skills:
Minimum 3 years of system administration experience in Linux/Debian UNIX and other Linux environments
Practical knowledge of network routing, firewall configuration, and tcpdump
Experience with VMware
Scripting experience (Per!, Python, or Shell)
Demonstrated abilities in performance tuning, system configuration and monitoring, patch management
Familiar with Configuration and Release Management processes
Strong communication and documentation skills
Desired Skills:
4 years networking experience
Ability to follow process flow and network topology documentation
Fluid understanding of TCP/IP
Effective trouble-shooting skills for layer one incidents and router configurations
Solid understanding of DNS, NAT, PAT, & DHCP configurations
Education Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in technical area of study with a focus on computer science background preferred, or equivalent work experience
