Job Description
The Junior Database Administrator will serve as part of our DataCenter Operations team in ensuring the stability, accessibility and scalability of our database platforms serving as the engine for our SaaS ecommerce solutions. The position focus will be not only on production, but also on ownership of our database release process and internal SQL environments.
You will play an important role in the following:
day-to-day performance and availability monitoring of environments
instance installation and upgrades
assist with database/server planning, design, and implementation
supporting production systems after hours in an on-call rotation
deploying TSQL code to internal and production systems
deploying TSQL code releases from development through production
Required Skills
? Requires BS degree computer science or equivalent work experience.
? 1+ years of database administration experience on Microsoft SQL
Server platform is a plus.
? Requirements:
Working knowledge of windows platforms (server/desktop)
Knowledge of core relational data modeling fundamentals
Knowledge of core relational database fundamentals
Experience identifying and troubleshooting problems
Good communications, writing and editing skills needed to transfer information to individuals involved in development process
Proven ability to work independently or in a team environment
Experience in a 24x7 environment is desirable
Experience or knowledge in the following areas is a plus:
SSIS
SSRS
Storage Types and RAID Levels
