NetSpend is a leading nationwide prepaid debit card company homegrown in Austin, TX. We are currently looking for a Junior UI Web developer who not only understands and can handle front end responsibilities, but also has solid development skills for integration purposes with our application development team.
As a Junior Web Developer at NetSpend, you will be part of the Web Development team and collaborate with developers, product management, user experience, quality assurance and creative design to build compelling web applications for our customers. This is a great opportunity to learn and grow along with us as we build world-class customer experiences.
Responsibilities:
Create and maintain dynamic web-based solutions
Make front-end updates to client websites, including new back-end functionality
Code landing pages and acquisition sites for new customers
Work with business stakeholders to gather user stories for the enhancement of existing web applications and development of new products and features
Develop code to interact with industry standard libraries for rich client interactions and data integrations
Work with QA and Development teams to ensure compatibility and quality of applications
Be proactive in a small, fast-paced team to work towards problem solutions while adapting to existing processes, practices, and tools
Skills/Education/Experience:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent years of experience in computer sciences preferred
Working knowledge of hand coding HTML and CSS
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator
Working knowledge of SQL
Experience with PHP preferred
Experience with jQuery/ JavaScript preferred
Commercial web development experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
Strong user interface design skills and usability principles
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and an interest in working in a collaborative team environment
Demonstrated ability to deliver results, prioritize activities and manage time effectively
Backbone, Underscore, Mustache, Handlebars, SCSS experience a plus
Social and Mobile application development experience a plus
Java/JSP presentation and middle-tier programming experience a plus
Portfolio of work a plus
