The Desktop Applications R&D group focuses on expanding Adknowledge?s position in the marketplace through exploring high growth opportunities in web and application based advertising.
Operationally, the research and development unit closely pairs engineers and product managers in a technology driven startup-like culture to identify and launch new businesses. Heavily reliant on open source, we strive to innovate and continually experiment with new technology stacks to best solve each new business unit?s needs.
This position is for a junior developer, and the role will involve the support, enhancement, and implementation of products, including:
1. Publisher Interface: You will work closely with your team to design, implement, and maintain public-facing systems accessed by publisher websites and networks.
2. Account Management Tools and Reports: You will help create and maintain internal reports and tools to be used by account management employees for effectively serving our internal and external customers.
3. Data Sourcing and Source Management: You will work with and manage the internal data sources and feeds which provide our reporting infrastructure with data.
4. ETL Management: You will support the processes by which all key data points are processed, interpreted, and displayed in support of the above key responsibilities.
Additional duties include:
Optimize system code, reports, and tools for increased performance and reliability;
Regular code commenting and documentation;
Learn new technologies and participate in the architecting of new systems;
Participate in 24-hour and weekend on-call rotations
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Experience developing database driven web applications. Experience with LAMP or similar stacks is a plus; Experience using PHP MVC frameworks such as Phalcon, Laravel, Symfony, CakePHP, Zend, etc. are a plus; Experience with NoSQL platforms is a plus.
Experience in object-oriented languages and object-oriented design principles.
Experience writing functional and accurate queries in SQL.
Experience with bash scripting and working in a Linux environment.
Experience using version control software. Experience with git is a plus.

There are several key measurements of success this employee will use to benchmark performance including:
Managing the ticketing queue, providing accurate and timely information to the business team
Ability to stay abreast of technology trends and implement solutions using unfamiliar technology
Understanding the needs of the business and work with the business team in accomplishing goals
