Most sales start at noon ET and last only 36 hours, making Gilt.com an addictive destination for aspirational shoppers from coast to coast.The Jr. Retoucher will work within a team that produces all imagery used in sales, having the opportunity to learn about retouching high-volume, high-quality imagery in the competitive world of e-commerce.
A keen eye is a must as the Jr. Retoucher will be responsible for ensuring the quality of images received from vendors prior to retouching, accuracy of images uploaded to our website and detailed image management in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
This position is best suited to a recent college-graduate planning to join the photography industry with a good understanding of Photoshop, excellent written communication skills and an interest in photography and retouching.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the approval and retouching the vendor-provided imagery to ensure image quality and satisfaction of the Gilt aesthetic
Review and correct upcoming sales for quality and consistency to Gilt?s photography standards/guidelines
Maintain production of a high volume of images under very tight deadlines
Communicate with other teams in order to proactively address discrepancies and solve issues
Utilize appropriate digital asset management techniques, from receiving images from the studio up to when the sale goes live
Qualifications:
3+ years in photography education or 1+ year of related work experience
Competency in Photoshop, Mac OSX and Microsoft Office
Strong organization and communication skills (written and verbal) are a must
Web and design knowledge or previous coordination experience a plus
Basic competency in Photoshop
