Description:Plateau is seeking a qualified Junior Software Engineer to work out of our Headquarters office in Arlington, VA, supporting our Product Engineering division.
Job Duties include:
o Design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications
o Support and/or install software applications
o Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
o Employ commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in software development, particularly in J2EE
o Conform to instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
o Works under immediate supervision
o Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment
o Typically reports to a senior/lead engineer or manager
Required Qualifications:
o Up to 2 years of overall software development experience, 0 to 1 year of which in Java
o Working experience with front-end technologies including HTML, DHTML, CSS, JSP and JavaScript
o Familiar with J2EE architecture and technologies including JSP, Servlet, EJB, JMS, JDBC, JNDI and Struts (Apache)
o Familiar with OOA/OOD, UML, design patterns and software development life cycle
o Familiar with SOAP/WSDL/UDDI
o Familiar with one more of the following market-leading application servers: WebLogic, WebSphere, SunOne, Oracle 9iAS, Jboss/Tomcat
o Familiar with either Oracle 8i/9i or DB2 8.1
o Familiar with XML, DTD/Schema, SAX/DOM and Java programming with XML
o Enthusiastic, reliable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
o B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
