Junior Technical Generalist (Engineering) Skybox Imaging

The Skybox Chief Engineer is looking for a junior associate to help with a wide range of technical tasks in support of Skybox's integrated space, software and data system. An ideal candidate is strong in analysis, has a keen interest in learning new technical disciplines and communicates well with both technical and non-technical peers. This individual should be able to take a general description of a problem, distill it to its core elements, research, analyze and design experiments in support of resolving or understanding it.
This position will report directly to the Chief Engineer.
? Spacecraft engineering:
o Space Environment
o Camera systems
o Structures and structural dynamics analysis and test
o Thermal analysis and test
o Space radiation physics and effects
o Communications and information theory
o Modern linear control and estimation theory
o Embedded real-time hardware and software
o Particulate and molecular contamination
o Understanding of the finite element method and finite difference method
o Proficiency in MATLAB, Python (NumPy+SciPy), R, or other numerical scientific scripting languages
? Imaging systems
o Optical physics
o Camera / sensor physics and analysis
o Sampling, signal processing and fourier analysis
o Basic computer science background
o Data structures
o Threading, parallel processing and synchronization primitives such as mutexes
o Familiarity with C/C++, Java, Objective-C, C#, etc.
? Failure analysis
o Accelerated life models and testing
o Statistics background
? A MS or PhD level degree in a technical discipline is a requirement (engineering or physics preferred).
? Startup DNA is a must
