This is a summer intern position with the Kinetis Microcontroller test engineering team. The intern will learn about the various methods, procedures and equipment employed during the characterization, qualification and production of new microcontroller products. Training will include the operation and programming of production and bench test equipment, test methods for screening circuit defects, and test flows to guarantee products meets data sheet parameters and performance over the specified process, temperature, and voltage ranges. The intern will be assigned to a core team with the opportunity to interface with engineers from a broad range of disciplines including product and design engineering.
The ideal candidate will have completed a basic core curriculum in engineering and software programming for an accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

- Computer architecture
- Microprocessors and embedded systems
- Analog/mixed signal circuits
- Design for test methods
- Object oriented computer language
- Semiconductor device theory and fabrication
- Probability and statistics
The candidate must possess excellent problem solving and computer programming skills. Knowledge of embedded systems and microcontroller technology is essential. Hands-on experience with bench test lab equipment such as a logic analyzer and oscilloscope is beneficial. Prior intern or co-op experience in a technical role is always a plus.
