Cleveland HeartLab, Inc. is a rapidly growing specialty clinical laboratory and disease management company focused on biomarker technologies. We are located in the Midtown Corridor and are
searching for a Laboratory Operations Director.
This position will oversee all quality control programs, specimen handling and test results for
accuracy and validity. Assist with evaluating instrumentation and test data to determine validity and
feasibility of new instrumentation, new tests and better laboratory processes and procedures.
Recommend and oversee large projects such as new technology introduction. Proactively participate
in professional associations to promote the company with the goal of increasing sales. Manage a
total of 20-30 employees in the Laboratory and carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance
with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and
training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance management; addressing
complaints and problem resolution. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to
manage his/her responsibilities in a way that supports the achievement of departmental goals while
working effectively with others in the management team to accomplish organizational goals to
identify and resolve problems at the departmental level. They will skillfully administer, direct and
allocate all organizational resources.
To be considered you will need to have a BS in biological sciences or a related area with an MS
preferred with CLS or MT certification. 7 or more years of working experience in a clinical laboratory
setting with at least 3 years leading a team at a manager or director level. The ability to identify
short and long-term Client needs and align laboratory and facility efforts accordingly. Excellent
verbal and written communications, conflict resolution, & human relations skills. Versed in
technology used in clinical lab and quality control program with strong problem solving abilities.
Good Organizational skills to work effectively and efficiently. Computer literacy with Microsoft Office,
LIS and CRM systems. Knowledgeable of all laboratory processes and procedures including
CAP/CLIA regulations.
