The purpose of the Laboratory Technical Supervisor is to serve as a technical supervisor as per CLIA 42 CFR
493.1449 regulations. The candidate will ensure that the tests meet all regulatory requirements and coordinate
with the laboratory staff to review data for accuracy and issue test reports. The candidate will also act as
technical resource for the laboratory staff.
? Analyze, interpret and verify test results generated in the laboratory
? Ensure that the tests run in the laboratory are accurate and are completed within specified turnaround
? Assist Laboratory Director to ensure testing systems developed and performed in the laboratory provide
quality services and meet regulatory requirements
? Lead and/or partner with the technical development team to improve and troubleshoot technical
? Maintain current best practice knowledgebase
? Complete required continuous education training and education, including department specific
? Participates and assists Laboratory Director in managing all governmental and regulatory audits
? Works with management to respond and complete all audit findings in a timely manner
? Perform necessary actions to keep Assurex Health compliant of all regulations, maintain CLIA licensure from
various states and CAP accreditation
? Partner with Quality team to develop, implement and maintain SOPs and appropriate QC and QA programs
? Collaborate with Product Development team to optimize and/or design new workflows to automate the
integration and interpretation of genetic data into Assurex Health systems
? A PhD in human genetics with at least 2 years of relevant experience in genomics (genotyping, real-time
PCR, next-generation sequencing) and or high complexity molecular diagnostic CLIA-certified laboratories
? Candidates with qualifications/ credentials to qualify as high complexity Laboratory Director (as per 42 CFR
493.1443) are preferred
? This position requires someone with highly effective verbal/written and computer skills, and who is highly
motivated and adaptable in a rapidly growing start-up environment
? Must have knowledge of accreditation and regulatory (CLIA/FDA/GCP/GLP) requirements
? Must have the ability to maintain a high level of problem solving and decision making
? Excellent leadership and customer service skills are required FINAL 10/2/2013

? Must be analytical, flexible, innovative, and self-motivated
