Description:The Lead Application/Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all Production systems in multiple datacenters as well as the systems that support the back office corporate data center. Duties include custom software application installs; monitoring of systems and applications; patches and upgrades; problem investigation and resolution. In addition, the Lead Application Engineer is responsible for the daily administration of change orders into the environment, distribution of work amongst the team of Application Engineers, getting in front of incidents and managing them through completion, as well as participating in advance planning meetings and suggesting architectural upgrades to the environments.
Duties:
Provide escalated support by investigating and resolving complicated business application issues
Support Production application systems in a 24x7 environment and their related systems
Develop expert understanding of technical and business process flow for applications and provide recommendations for improvement
Provide appropriate communication, facilitate bringing other parties together, and complete post resolution reporting for high severity incidents
Participate in Development efforts, provide input for future requirements, and inform Engineering or others of any known issues
Execute deployment procedures into Production environments with appropriate validation
Setup, configure, maintain and monitor assigned business application(s) and related systems
Receive and manage afterhours alerts
Participate in an after-hours support rotation schedule
Work after-hours projects and maintenances as scheduled
Problem resolution including root cause analysis
Qualifications:
Degree in Information Technology or related engineering field preferred
Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Servers
Experience managing Apache Tomcat, Java, ASP.NET, COM+, SOAP, XML, IIS.
Experience with Windows 2003/2008 servers in a large datacenter environment, infrastructure management, change management, advanced Microsoft Active Directory knowledge with regard domains, group policy, and security
Proficient understanding and supporting interfaces and integration
Proficient understanding of Active Directory/Directory Services
