Your Mission at IMVU
Provide clarity on how users interact with IMVU by maintaining and improving our leading-edge data collection and analysis pipeline. Instrument new product features, improve the performance and reliability of our data streaming and warehousing systems, experiment with new technology, and build complex analytical processing tools. Make and enable discoveries that drive the direction and future of IMVU.

Solid communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem solving ability and analytical skills
Passionate about agile software development, continuous integration and test driven development.
5+ years of experience in commercial software development or systems administration.
Bachelor?s degree or similar experience
Excellence is derived from your talent, not domain experience with specific tools. That said, it would be useful if you have experience with several of the following:
Data warehouses, data cubes, OLAP systems, Hive, Hadoop, Pig, R, or Cloudera
Handling structured and unstructured data and applying ETL processes
Proficiency with Scala, Python, or other similar languages
Applied understanding and proficiency with MySQL
Monitoring and alerting systems like Cacti or Nagios, including custom plug-ins
Statistics, data modeling, and business analytics
Performance analysis, Capacity planning, DNS, networking
DevOps skills with strong -nix knowledge and excellent shell scripting ability
Nice to haves include:
Database administration skills
Contributions to open source projects (i.e. code we can review)
Experience with emerging technologies such as Cascading, Scalding, and others
