The Position
We are in search of MySQL Lead DBA. The ideal applicant will need to have strong analytical and problem solving skills, and will want to be part of a fun and energetic team that is changing the way healthcare works through analytics. This role requires someone who is constantly asking ?why?, so that they can implement solutions to problems that have not yet been solved. Your primary objective will be to lead a team of DBA?s to operate a reliable but high-growth big data platform. The Lead DBA role reports to the Director of Systems Infrastructure.

Competencies
Minimum of 3 to 4 years of MySQL administration; 8+ years with any DB platform.
Experience configuring and troubleshooting replication.
Expert knowledge of MySQL performance tuning.
Expert knowledge of SQL (joins, sub-queries, etc?)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ensure MySQL servers run at optimal health; performance troubleshooting as necessary (resource profiling, index management, disk I/O, CPU, identify bottlenecks, etc?).
Assist with change management and documentation of customer environments.
Work with dedicated team to ensure success of select customer group.
Ensure customer uptime through precise monitoring implementations, good change management and incorporation of best practices.
Experience with MySQL Cluster, Percona, Galera a PLUS
Experience with InnoDB, MyISAM and other storage engines.
Install, configure, and maintain MySQL in customer environments.
Develop automation tools surrounding monitoring, performance and capacity planning.
Participate in a 24-7 on-call rotation and night deployments, as needed.
Ability to motivate themselves and their team to do what is right by the customer
Ability to troubleshoot and performance tune both Linux and MySQL.
Additional Qualifications (Not Required, Highly Desired)
Experience with NoSQL Databases (MongoDB)
Oracle Certified Associate, MySQL 5 is highly desired.
Oracle Certified Professional, MySQL 5 Database Administrator and Developer certification a strong plus.
College Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other coursework requiring programming
