Piglt is seeking an enthusiastic and driven CTO/Lead Developer to join the team. This is an opportunity to become a part of something unique that is already moving along at a much faster rate than most startups. The ideal candidate should have experience developing in the Django platforms, is willing to manage teams. We are looking for someone energetic, willing to move fast, take risks, and really understand the vision and the scalability of the brand. If you are looking for a Monday-Friday 9 to 5 job, than this is not right for you. If you enjoy doing something creative and entrepreneurial, this should interest you.
Responsibilities:
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The lead programmer will be building a beta version of our platform with capabilities similar to Kickstarter and Indiegogo. Programmers will also build algorithms to support strong natural language searches. In addition, programmers will be expected to provide technical recommendations, assess feasibility of business goals, etc. Depending on performance, this team
member may have the opportunity to transition into a permanent CTO role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
We are looking to fill a lead programmer position with an individual that has significant experience with web and database development.
REQUISITE TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1) Strong experience with web development and applications (i.e.Django, Python, JQuery)
2) Database Experience (i.e. MySQL, etc)
3) Front End Experience (i.e. HTML, CSS, Javascript)
4) Computer Science or related degree from a four-year college (or near
completion)
5) Photoshop/Image manipulation / design skills
REQUISITE INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
1) Strong Listening Skills: The candidate will need to be able to convert a
stated vision of the website into an actual functioning beta site
2) Strong Communication Skills: Similarly, candidates will need to be able
to effectively communicate with other team members to work through
difficulties and achieve critical milestones
3) Availability: Candidates will need to be able to commit a minimum of 20
hours per week to this project
4) Reliability and Dependability: As this position is for a start-up,
reliability will be critical; the candidate must meet deadlines, attend all
necessary meetings, be prompt, etc.
5) Strong Interest in Entrepreneurship: This position is better suited for
those interested in building a company as opposed to joining one which is
already established; those with a passion for entrepreneurship and building
applications from scratch will likely be more successful
COMPENSATION
Compensation will vary depending on skill and experience, but will be
competitive. Depending on initial performance, this lead programmer may have an
opportunity to become the CTO and gain equity in the company.
OTHER INFORMATION
We are looking for a full time programmer to join the team. However,
part-time candidates will still be considered. Additionally, telecommuting
can be expected occasionally although team members will be expected to work
in person the majority of time spent working.
