Responsibilities:Develop and maintain backend APIs and supporting subcomponents
Perform exceptionally within an agile development environment
Focus on distributed, scalable solutions
Work closely with and incorporate feedback from other engineering teams
Support and resolve issues on peripheral teams data-centric processes and DBs throughout the development cycle and into production
Proactive, evaluative and employ a best-tool for the task attitude towards engineering
Requirements:
B.S. in computer science, or equivalent knowledge and experience
5+ year experience working in Linux/Unix backend programming environment
Experience with design and development of high performance scalable web applications
Strong backend and expert OO design, coding, and documentation skills
Written and supported numerous REST APIs in high demand environments
Proficient in any or all Python, Perl, C++, PHP, Java programming languages
Experience utilizing hadoop clusters and big data management systems
Obsessive problem solver and efficiency minder
Bonus or substitutional requirements:
Proficient Hive, Pig, and/or Java M/R job development skills
Conceptual knowledge of behavioral data analytics and targeting
Experience with Python, including threading/multiprocessing, DBAPI and WSGI
Experience with NoSQL implementations
Experience with Columnar DBs
Expertise in RDBMS, MySQL preferred
