The Lead FA Engineer is a critical role for success of the overall organization. Tilera?s senior management puts a high value on operational excellence and are committed to providing Best-in-Class supplier quality. As the Lead Engineer, you will help define and maintain the FA process to identify Root Cause Corrective Action for customer returns and internally generated failures. A successful candidate will have an inquisitive mind, enjoy challenges, have great trouble shooting skills and operate well in a fast-paced culture. A great deal of personal and technical development will be present from the complexity, depth, and pace of the work.
Key Objectives for the Lead FA Engineer:
Define and maintain the FA process for all the company?s products.
Develop and maintain a tracking system to show status and next steps for all FA WIP and monitor / report TATs.
Manage internal and external customer requests for failure analysis of the company's products.
Drive activities internally and externally to improve failure analysis cycle times and achieve overall quality commitments.
Determine Root Cause for all FAs and implement Corrective Actions including test coverage improvements, design improvements, assembly improvements, or supplier related failure modes.
Provide periodic updates to senior management and customers regarding your ongoing analysis and plans.
BS degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field, with semiconductor emphasis
Advanced Degrees are preferred
At least 5-15+ years of experience in Failure Analysis, Product Engineering, or Design
Skilled in failure analysis techniques and solid system / ATE testing skills.
Experience developing a failure analysis flows and reducing FA TATs.
Ability to write high-quality comprehensive 8D reports for internal and customer review.
Good written and oral communication skills in English
Experience working with modern chip FA methodologies: EMMI, TIVA, OBIC, EBIC, SEM, FIB, X-Ray, etc.
Fab and/or assembly process experience a plus
Sample cross-sectioning skills are a plus
Experience working with flip chip BGA packages is a plus
