The Instructional Designer will design and develop instructional material for training courses that support clients and companywide needs. Their main responsibility will be translating raw content and information into instructional content.
The ID should be capable of performing or at least managing the entire ADDIE process. This means interacting with SME's, defining learning objectives, writing storyboards or scripts and partnering with courseware developers and multi-media specialists to complete the learning material.
The successful candidate must have proven instructional design and course development experience along with the ability to translate business needs into learning solutions. In-depth knowledge of educational learning trends including web-based and multi-media technologies will further enable your success in this role.
What would my main duties be?
Design and develop deliverables per client needs and expectations and present potential concepts.
Assist in the identification, assessment and resolution of issues and problems.
Interact and discuss with client frequently in regards to specific work efforts including seeking regular feedback and input from client on deliverables.
Balance and prioritize work to ensure critical items are addressed.
Produce high quality deliverables while working within budget and meeting deadlines.
What is Desire2Learn looking for from me?
5+ years' experience in developing learning solutions
A degree in Adult Education or Instructional Design
In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles and practices including the ADDIE model, adult learning principles, interactive learning design and blended learning techniques
Strong analytical, consulting and organizational abilities
Experience with developing training for internal audiences as it relates to professional development as asset but not a requirement
Ideally the candidate will have a Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education or equivalent experience.
